Congratulations to the February Business of the Month, The Resource Co. Inc.
Sponsored by the Kernersville News

The Resource Co. Inc. was founded in Winston-Salem in 1979, then known as Executive Resources and focused primarily on permanent placement staffing. Kathy Hartung joined the company in 1983 to oversee the new temporary staffing division, and with industry booming in the Piedmont Triad and the heightened need for volume labor, this division became the primary business focus and the company became ‘Temporary Resources Inc.’. Over the years Temporary Resources continued to build strong connections with local employers and maintain a dedicated and growing employee base. As the staffing industry and hiring market continued to evolve, so too did TR’s service offerings, including far more than just traditional temporary placement. This led to a name change in 2014 to THE RESOURCE – to better encompass the full suite of hiring and people solutions the company provides.

The Resource is proud to be locally and woman-owned, with 5 office locations throughout central North Carolina, 65 full-time staff members, and over 1,000 employees working each week at companies across NC and beyond. Their passion is to serve others through making career connections, coaching people to be the best they can be in their role, and helping them understand what naturally drives and fulfills them. The Resource’s service offerings are customized to address the specific challenges of their clients and candidates, and include Staffing & Direct Hire Placement, Consulting & Organizational Development, Payroll & Accounting Services, their CORE Assessment™, and Leadership & Executive Coaching through their TREVERO division.

With The Resource’s corporate office located in Winston-Salem and an office in Greensboro, they have had the great opportunity to work with many Kernersville-based companies over the years, providing staffing services from Temp-to-Hire to Direct Placement. Involvement in Kernersville Chamber events by The Resource’s VP of Sales & Client Relations, Rita Bottoms, includes Women in Business, the Golf Tournament, Talent Supply: Kernersville Connects, and various networking events. The Resource encourages its staff to participate in local philanthropy through their internal culture team, supporting causes such as GreeNest WS, the Ronald McDonald House, Samaritan Ministries, Second Harvest Foodbank, Goodwill of NWNC & Dress for Success, as well as partnering with local high schools and community colleges to offer guidance on resume creation, soft skills, and job interview tips.

The Resource looks forward to continued growth in 2023, and as the labor market continues to evolve, they’re creating new solutions to better meet the needs of local employers. This will hopefully lead to more partnership opportunities with Kernersville businesses!
