The Resource and the City of Winston-Salem announce Staffing Partnership to help fill temporary job openings in city

Community hiring event set for Saturday, July 22 in Bailey Park

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. (July 19, 2023) – The Resource, a local staffing and hiring solutions firm with more than 40 years of experience, and the city of Winston-Salem launched a partnership on July 1 that calls for The Resource to recruit personnel to fill all temporary positions for the city.

Those positions may include openings with parks and recreation, the fairgrounds, city cemeteries, golf courses, utilities, sanitation, and transportation, among others.

“The Resource has a long history of serving the Winston-Salem area and we are thrilled to begin this partnership to support finding the most qualified, talented individuals to meet our community’s needs,” said Marquis Barnett Ed.D., City of Winston-Salem human resources director.

To mark the new partnership, The Resource and Winston-Salem will host a community hiring event on July 22 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. in Bailey Park to recruit for positions throughout the city departments and to offer information on job openings. Some positions will allow individuals to apply and interview onsite so résumés are suggested but not required. There will be recruiting teams from The Resource, Winston-Salem Human Resources, Winston-Salem Fire and Police, and various other departments.

The event will offer much more than job recruitment, though, with music, multiple food trucks, vendors, and games.
