April 1st, 2025 marks 10 years since I became a Recruiter! I’ll never forget starting with The Resource on April Fools’ Day, 2015. No practical jokes were played on me that day, but it was still a pivotal moment in my life and career. TR took a chance on me—an awkward newbie to staffing and recruiting—believing I had the potential to be great. I jumped in feet first and, lo and behold, I absolutely loved it (and turns out, I was kinda good at it, too).

What I quickly realized is that my passion is helping people, and few things are more fulfilling than doing just that. None of this would have been possible without the most supportive team—who, to this day, still answer my never-ending questions about who, why, and how.

To the Executive Assistant who was my very first impression of the company. I’ll never forget how gracious you were when I answered your call while nervously pacing barefoot in the backyard—only to step on a stick. I could barely breathe, let alone answer a question. But I paused, collected myself, and now? I can finally laugh about it.

To our CEO Kathy – You share my mom’s first name (and she’s amazing, so I knew you would be too). I hadn’t interviewed in over 11 years, but you immediately put me at ease. I’ll always remember sitting across from you in your orange office, and within minutes, you were telling me all about myself—it was astonishing! (For those wondering, I’m a Merchant/Banker per our CORE Assessment® )

And then, of course, Todd, our VP of Operations – answering my dress code question with a classic dad joke, because, well… IYKYK.

To Christopher, our VP of Systems – Just last week, I was giving you mad props (again) for the training and processes you create. They are so critical to this company’s success, and I appreciate it more than you know.

To Kelly, my Manager at the time, and Jerry, my coworker – You both equipped me with everything I needed to tackle my first gigantic project —finding 50 skilled forklift drivers ASAP. No pressure, right?

And to Julia, our VP of Direct Hire and my current leader – Thank you for answering the call when I realized I missed home, and for giving me the chance to be part of the G.O.A.T. team.

So many others have been so impactful over these past 10 years—my appreciation for you all overflows!
